Pen Pals
1. Have the kids write to pen pals from other countries. You can
find names and addresses in kids' magazines or from foreign language teachers
at your child's school.
2. Provide comic books or small favors the kids can include with
their letters as souvenirs.
Ethnic Costumes
1. For example, create serapes by providing large squares of loose-weave
fabric and letting the kids fringe the ends.
2. Or let them make hats from Germany, Sweden, Mexico, Africa, and
other places.
3. You may want to have the kids wrap saris around each other, or
have them create their own costumes using yards of colorful fabric. Then
have a fashion show from around the world.
