Pack Your Bags
1. Fill a suitcase with items from different
countries, enough for all guests.
2. Divide the kids into two teams, and have them
sit in two lines.
3. Open your suitcase, and tell the players you
have just returned from a long trip around the word.
Give each player an item.
4. To begin the game, the first person in line
says the name and the country of origin of his or her
item, and then passes the item to the next person in
line. That person must the repeat the first item and
country, then add his or her own, and pass both to the
next person.
5. The team that finishes first wins the game.
Can You Say . . .?
1. Find a foreign traveler dictionary.
2. Choose a simple phrase, such as "Ou est les
petit fours?" ("Where are the little cakes?")
3. Have the kids take turns reading the phrases
(and acting them out if they need to) while the rest
of the players try to guess the meaning.
4. The player who has the best guess for each
phrase wins a prize.
Travel Puzzle
1. Glue two travel posters onto two pieces of
stiff posterboard. Cut both posters into large puzzles
pieces.
2. Divide the players into teams, have them race
to assemble the puzzles and then name the location.
3. The team that finishes first and correctly
names the location wins.
