Pirate's
Treasure
1. Bury some inexpensive toys in the sand and let the kids dig them
out.
2. When they find a toy, they get to keep it, but they must drop
out of the digging and allow other players to find the remaining treasures.
Musical Pools
1. Set large, plastic pans of water in a circle, enough for all
but one player.
2. Play a ukulele as everyone, in bathing suits, marches around
the pools of water.
3. When you stop playing the music, the kids must scramble for
a pool and sit down. The player who does not find a pool is out of the
game.
4. Remove one pan of water and continue playing until only one
player remains.
Limbo Contest
1. See how low they can go. Hold a broomstick or bamboo stick four
feet above the ground and have the players try to duck under it by bending
backwards.
2. Play some music as the everyone limbos under the limbo stick.
3. After everyone has had a turn going under the stick, lower it
half a foot and go again.
4. Keep playing until only one player remains. The remaining player
gets a prize.
Hula-Hoopers
1. Get out a Hula-Hoop and have a contest to see how long each
player can keep the hoop in the air. Try this game while wearing grass
skirts.
2. Younger kids may have some trouble keeping the hoop in the air
for any length of time, so have them jump through the hoops instead.
3. Have the kids come up with as many ways to use a Hula-Hoop as
they can.
