Outdoor Happiness Movement: Mount Ascutney, Vermont
McKee Foods, parent company of Little Debbie, is working with every state in America to discover new ways that each person can find outdoor happiness! A goal of 50 projects in 50 states is expected to be completed by 2018.
This Outdoor Happiness Movement (OH!) update is highlighting Mount Ascutney in Vermont. Teaming up with the Trust for Public Land, 468 acres were helped purchased on beautiful Mount Ascutney in West Windsor, Vermont. A site once home to a ski lodge is under reconstruction to provide new tow ropes and hike-to-ski routes for skiers. The property will also feature hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and horseback riding trails, for people of all ages to enjoy. The purchase, together with the city-owned forests of West Windsor, protects almost 1,600 acres of land!
