Little Debbie Pumpkin Patch

October 31st, 2017

Celebrate Fall with a cute and tasty Little Debbie Pumpkin Patch Trifle. My table is set and ready to welcome my guests to the annual Fall party. I love all things pumpkin and this easy throw-it-together dessert will take no time for you to whip up.

I like desserts that can be made ahead of time, I always seem to be running on empty by the time dessert rolls around. Thanks to Little Debbie's Fall inspired treats, I was able to develop a cute, Fall themed trifle that makes everyone giddy with excitement.

This scrumptious layered Fall dessert has moist, vanilla Little Debbie Fall Party Cakes followed by cold and creamy, candy corn colored puddings, a layer of tender chocolate cake and decorated with Little Debbie Pumpkin Brownies to make the cutest pumpkin patch!

Pumpkin Patch Trifle

  • 1 box of Little Debbie Fall Party Cakes, Vanilla
  • 1 box of Little Debbie Pumpkin Brownies
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix, prepared according to directions on box
  • 2 boxes of vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 box of white chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 6 cups of milk (for pudding)
  • orange and yellow food coloring
  • bamboo skewers to hold pumpkins in place
  • pumpkin candy
  • Fall colored sprinkles

  • Prepare boxed cake mix according to the package directions. Bake cake in a 9x13 pan and allow to cool. Crumble cake using a fork and set aside.
  • Prepare instant puddings in 3 different bowls. 1 box of instant pudding mixed with 2 cups of cold milk and set aside to firm up.
  • Leave white chocolate pudding alone and set to the side (this will stay white).
  • Color each of the vanilla puddings, place a fair amount of yellow food coloring in one bowl of vanilla pudding and orange food coloring in the other. Mix each of the puddings well.
  • In a large trifle bowl, crumble the entire box of Little Debbie Fall Party Cakes.
  • Next, pour the yellow pudding on top of the crumbled, vanilla Fall Party Cakes.
  • Followed by a layer of the orange pudding and then white (this should resemble candy corn).
  • For the top layer of the trifle, crumble the baked chocolate cake. Be sure to cover all of the pudding so the top looks like dirt.
  • Skewer each of the Little Debbie Pumpkin Brownies from the bottom and place in the trifle bowl.
  • Place pumpkin candies and Fall colored sprinkles around the "dirt" cake.
  • Keep trifle cold if making overnight. Otherwise, it is fine sitting the dessert on the table for a couple of hours.

Brownie Pumpkin Scarecrow Pops

October 10th, 2017

Little Debbie Fall treats and snacks are now available in stores! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love all things that scream autumn. From pumpkins to apples, cinnamon sticks to cloves, and orange to red foliage; these things inspire me the most!

Little Debbie Brownie Pumpkins are in stores and the moment I saw them, I knew what to make! My girls love crafting and getting their hands on any kind of creative activity. I thought it would be fun to turn these tasty, little pumpkin brownies into a build-your-own scarecrow pop. Fun, artsy, and sure to keep your little ones busy for a bit. These also make great centerpieces for the fall dinner table.

My Scarecrow Pops are made of rice cereal treats, fruit leather, shredded wheat cereal, melted chocolate, and Little Debbie Brownie Pumpkins.

Scarecrow Pop

  • Bamboo Skewers (1 per pop)
  • Little Debbie Brownie Pumpkins (1 per pop)
  • Rice cereal treats (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fruit Leather (2 serving rolls per scarecrow)
  • Shredded wheat cereal ( 3-4 pieces per scarecrow)
  • Melted chocolate ( 1/3 cup chocolate chips, melted in microwave)

  • Lay rice cereal treat in front of you and cut a 3" rectangle for the shirt.
  • Remove top sides of the rectangle at an angle to represent shoulders.
  • Slide bamboo stick through the center of cut rectangle.
  • Cut another small 3" rectangle from rice cereal treats and slice out a triangle at the bottom.
  • This forms the legs. Slide onto bamboo skewer.
  • Lay fruit leather on top of rice cereal treat cut outs.
  • Rub with hand to get the fruit leather to stick.

  • Using clean scissors, cut along sides of fruit leather to cover front of scarecrow's body.

  • Cut another 3" rectangle from rice cereal treats and lay horizontally.

  • Cut the ends off of the rectangle forming 2 small triangles and one larger (in the center).

  • Push a small piece of bamboo skewer into a small triangle's short side and slide into the body of the scarecrow.
  • Do the same for the other piece.

  • Lay fruit leather on each arm, rubbing with fingers to secure.
  • Use clean scissors to cut to size.

  • Using small pieces of a bamboo skewer, slide into the longer, flat side.
  • Slide skewer into each leg for a shoe.
  • Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and place in a sealed plastic baggie.
  • Snip of tip of one of the ends.
  • Squeeze chocolate onto each shoe and spread using a toothpick or butter knife.
  • Pipe a belt of chocolate and patches on pants, as well as the scarecrow's shirt.
  • Crush shredded wheat cereal with your hand and sprinkle on wet chocolate to look like straw.

  • Unwrap a Little Debbie Brownie Pumpkin and slide onto the top of the bamboo skewer.
  • Squeeze more chocolate on top of the head and sprinkle more shredded wheat.
  • Secure "neck" with a dollop of melted chocolate and wrap fruit leather around the neck to look like a handkerchief.
